Biography

Lihua Yuan’s research expertise is in infrared non-destructive testing and genetic algorithm. In 2004 - 2010, she took part in the project, intelligent computing based on species evolution and knowledge sharing funded by National Natural Science Foundation and hosted by her tutor Professor Ming Li. As the meantime, she studied genetic algorithm based on species evolution as her PhD and proposed the pleiotropy genetic algorithm to build one-to-many relationship between genotype and phenotype. She published more than 10 papers on genetic algorithm. Since 2010, she has been engaged in the research of infrared nondestructive testing, involving the qualitative research, quantitative detection, infrared thermal image processing, infrared microscopy, simulation and performance parameters of infrared nondestructive testing material defects. She has hosted and completed three projects on infrared non-destructive testing. Now she is hosting a project research on defect feature extraction of CFRP laminate and its detection probability by pulsed infrared thermal wave testing supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China. She published about 20 papers on infrared detection.
